What kind of students are most likely to benefit from Magoosh English Speaking?
We help busy students who are looking to make fast progress. Usually, our students are intermediate and advanced English learners who fall into one of the following 3 categories:
(1) working professionals who need to speak English at work
(2) people who are moving to or visiting an English speaking country for an extended period of time
(3) people who want a very high speaking score on a standardized test within a matter of weeks
How do you deliver lessons?
All lessons are delivered through Skype. Please make sure you download the software and create an account before your first lesson.
What do I need to do before my scheduled lesson? Download Skype and add your instructor on Skype. The confirmed location after you schedule a lesson is your instructor’s Skype ID. Please make sure you have a reliable internet connection and a quiet learning environment during your lesson.
When can I have lessons?We just need 12 hours advance notice. Check out our availability here.
Do you do payment installments?
Not always, but we will consider installment plans on a case-by-case basis. Just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you have corporate discounts?
Yes, we do. The amount of discount depends on the number of students and number of lessons per student. Just shoot us an email at email@example.com.
How is the intro assessment different from a private lesson?
An intro assessment is usually the first time that we get to know you in person. While you do learn helpful tips to improve your English in the session, it focuses on assessing both your learning needs and proficiency level.
Privates lessons focus on teaching and practicing speaking skills most relevant to you, usually informed by your intro assessment. Every 5th lesson will be a review and quiz lesson so you can see how much you've improved. You can choose how many lessons you'd like to take.
How do I get a discount?
The easiest way to get a discount is to refer your friends. If they purchase a lesson package and mention your full name in the intake form, we’ll reward both you and your friend a free lesson. There’s no maximum number of free lessons, so feel free to refer away. It’s like magic but social :)
What’s the cancellation and refund policy?
Lessons can be cancelled up until 12 hours before the scheduled time. Afterwards, they will be counted as no shows.
We know life happens, so every student is allowed one courtesy no-show while they study with Magoosh. Your courtesy no show can be rescheduled. If you used your courtesy no show already, you would be charged the full price for a no-show.
All cancellable or unscheduled lessons are refundable at the price you paid per lesson.
Is this general English or GRE/GMAT related English?
We are not focused on GRE/GMAT-specific English, although we aren't general English either. We work with intermediate and advanced learners to fulfill their career and life goals that involve English speaking.
